associated with one of several nearby T-cells producing few or no local ground strikes; rain & hail melted to 0.05" in about 4min at reporting station; I was out on foot a quarter mile away, and experienced similar conditions; appeared that clear, icy hailstones may have been liquid filled with many breaking or melting open on ground contact — but I was trying to reach cover and did not investigate carefully. |
